A Guelph & Wellington County hauling team
Not everything can go to the curb in Guelph, and not everything that gets loaded onto a junk removal truck ends up where you think it does. Understanding the City of Guelph's waste system — and choosing a responsible hauler — makes a real difference to how much of your unwanted stuff gets recycled, donated, or landfilled.
The City of Guelph's Waste Resource Innovation Centre (WRIC) at Stone Road is one of the most advanced in Ontario and accepts a wide range of materials beyond what blue-box recycling handles: scrap metal, electronics, appliances, hazardous household waste, and mattresses. Many items homeowners assume are junk have significant reuse value. We sort loads at the job and divert as much as possible from landfill — to the WRIC, scrap dealers, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and local donation outlets.
What the City won't take at the curb: appliances with refrigerant (fridges, freezers, AC units, dehumidifiers), electronics (TVs, computers, printers), paint, propane tanks, tires, and most construction waste. These items require specific drop-off locations or certified haulers. We handle all of them.
Common Guelph junk removal scenarios: estate cleanouts in older Wellington County homes where decades of accumulation need to be sorted, processed, and cleared. Renovation debris (drywall, flooring, lumber) from projects across the city. Pre-move purges, where families want years of furniture and household items gone quickly. Garage and basement cleanouts that have been on the to-do list for too long.
A note on mattresses: Guelph's Green Mattress Recycling Program accepts mattresses for a small fee at the WRIC. We handle mattress disposal separately and responsibly — not in the landfill, which is both expensive and wasteful given that 90%+ of a mattress is recyclable.

Answers to the questions Guelph homeowners ask us most.
Pricing is typically based on truck volume. A minimum load (1/8 truck) starts around $100–$150. A full truck load runs $400–$600. Heavy items like concrete, dirt, or appliances may carry surcharges. We provide an on-site quote before loading anything.
Almost everything: furniture, appliances, electronics, mattresses, renovation debris, scrap metal, yard waste, and general household clutter. Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, propane) require specific handling and we advise accordingly.
Appliances with refrigerant (fridges, freezers, dehumidifiers, AC units), electronics, tires, paint, propane tanks, and construction waste cannot be placed at the curb. These require the City of Guelph Waste Resource Innovation Centre or a licensed hauler.
Yes — we divert as much as possible from landfill. Furniture and household items in usable condition go to Habitat for Humanity ReStore and other Guelph donation outlets. Scrap metal is recycled. Electronics are taken to e-waste processors.
Often yes — call us in the morning and we can frequently accommodate same-day or next-day pickups, depending on our schedule. Estate cleanouts and large loads benefit from booking ahead.
Yes — drywall, flooring, lumber, concrete, and mixed renovation debris. Heavy materials like concrete and brick are priced separately due to weight. A dumpster rental may be more cost-effective for large renovation projects.
